Dr. Honaker outlines what's ahead for ParentMD in what is shaping up to be a huge year. Be the first to know of new video courses, new posts and new podcasts right here.
If the last 1.5 years were about creating and building ParentMD, then this year is about expanding and optimizing. We are so excited about our partnerships and the value our community is already receiving from our telehealth partners, curated education resources and crowdsourcing of information from our growing community.
Our team has been reflecting on the value and impact our brand is having on families, which is what drives and excites us. The following are just a few of examples:
Quick and easy access to telehealth pediatricians and nurses
The tools provided by our 24/7 virtual pediatrician service, including a digital otoscope. Families can very simply take a picture of the eardrum, send it back to the pediatrician and confirm or deny the diagnosis of an ear infection. If an ear infection is diagnosed, then a script can be called into the pharmacy and families can avoid a visit to the office plus all that comes with delaying the diagnosis and interrupting the next day’s schedule.
The compassion and attention our families have received from our virtual child life specialist partner has been exciting. Whether it’s parent coaching, dealing with potty training challenges or a family loss, the team has been great!
Trust is a word that comes up a lot from our community. Knowing you can come to ParentMD to get trusted clinical care via pediatric experts or to find trusted information and resources in one place brings peace of mind and the ability to make decisions. New parents are really enjoying our 70 + baby survival guides.
Bringing a community together on one platform and our ability to connect the dots for parents to one another or to awesome resources like our community partner Loullaby, which brings sleep support to new parents, has also been very rewarding.
...and we’re just getting started! What’s coming next?
New video courses! One on ADHD by a doctor who is a pediatrician and child psychologist and another discussing mental behavioral development of the growing child from birth to 25 years old by another child psychologist.
A bigger focus on babies! We are putting a bundle of resources together just for new parents that will include many hours of short videos from experts, an expanded baby survival guide with more 1-page topical guides, checklists, handouts, hotlines, telehealth recommendations, recommended books, and so much more. We want this to be an ultimate guide for new parents that meets as many needs as possible. Stay tuned – more to come on this!
2023 will be a big year for ParentMD. We greatly appreciate your friendship, trust in our team, support and willingness to share our brand and resources with those you love and care about!

What's New on ParentMD
A Holistic Approach to Pediatrics and the Role of the Internet
How healthcare has changed over the years, how parents are adjusting, and how the internet plays a major role in the way we access healthcare.
Know your options if your pharmacy is out of the prescription you need.
You may have seen some headlines and chatter on social media about some pharmacies being out of some children's antibiotics. Pediatrician and mother, Dr. Erica Bailen, shares with us in this short video what your options are if you find yourself in this position.
Get the capsule form of the medication and spread in peanut butter, applesauce, chocolate sauce, ect.
Get a paper prescription, so that you can call around to other area pharmacies to see if they have it available.
Ask about other concentrations and get adjusted direction from your pediatrician.
What's a Specialty Video Course? We’ve brought leading experts into our studio and asked them to share all the things they wanted parents to know on their particular subject. Check out all of our courses here.
Ear Infections
Ear infections are so common in young children. In this toolkit, Dr. Goudy discusses why kids get ear infections, treatment options, getting ear tubes and more!
